Teach Financial Literacy

The FWA Financial Backpack Committee, which develops and delivers financial literacy programs for high school students, invites you to join its teaching team for its various workshops. The FWA Financial Backpack Program was funded in 2008 by a $900,000 grant from the HSBC Foundation.

Financial Backpack WorkshopsWe are seeking volunteers to assist at the workshops, which are mostly held on weekends and a few programs during the school day. Advance training for these seminars is required. New volunteers will attend a basic training conference call and a group training session. Returning volunteers are required to attend the group training session. Volunteers are a part of a teaching team which will include a public school teacher, a FWA volunteer and a Baruch college student for each class room. Teams will be assigned to classrooms of 15-20 students; primarily high school juniors and seniors. The curriculum is posted on the FWA website and you can check out the FWA Financial Backpack Facebook page for more information.
